Research interests

I am a terrestrial ecosystem ecologist interested in the effect of different environmental perturbations and global change drivers on plant-microbe-soil interactions and ecosystem functioning, with specific interest on nutrient cycling. My main current research lines are: 1) Effects of Mediterranean forest die-off on soil microbial community and on soil carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) cycling; 2) Functioning, controls, and response to realistic climate change scenarios of ecosystem processes related to C and N cycling and storage in the Brazilian savanna (Cerrado); 3) Tree species composition and N deposition effects on C and N sequestration in temperate forests.
