Intensive agricultural practices reduce arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) populations in soil. The main objective of this project is to show the benefits of arbuscular mycorrhizas (AM) and to use AM inoculum to improve the levels of root colonisation, diminishing the application of fertilisers and pesticides. The studied crops are: i) lattice and tomato, two of the most important crops in greenhouse production in the Entre-Douro e Minho province (REDM) which are produced in temporal sequence in the same greenhouses and ii) grape-vine (Vinho Verde), the main crop of the province.
