Call for proposals: until 11 September 2023

The 6th Industry, History, Heritage Meeting will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from the 16th to the 18th of November 2023. The meeting celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Industry History and Heritage Network constitution.

This meeting intends to be an open and multidisciplinary discussion forum and counts with the presentation of studies on industrial and technological heritage and industrial history. The subjects include buildings and machinery, workshops, factories, mines and processing and refining sites, warehouses, production centers, energy transmission and use, means of transport and all its structures and infrastructures, as well as the places where industry-related social activities took place and the memories associated with all these processes.

The 6th Industry, History, Heritage Meeting includes a round table to discuss the need for the definition and implementation of a national plan for industrial heritage with the participation of researchers and representatives from various entities.

The meeting's program includes two study visits: to the Imprensa Nacional Casa da Moeda INCM (National Printing-Mint house), Lisbon, and the Gunpowder Factory of Vale de Milhaços, Seixal (if guaranteed a minimum number of registrations).

All those interested to disseminate their work within the scope of the industry history and heritage are invited to participate in this meeting, which aims to reflect on these issues, considering the political, economic, social, cultural, and geographical context in which they are inserted.
