Invitation: Call for nomination of fellows for the IPBES nexus and transformative change assessments

The call for nomination of fellows for the IPBES nexus and transformative assessments is out (EM/2021/19), to participate in the thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (nexus assessment) and the thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (transformative change assessment).
The call for experts was launched on 19 July 2021 (EM/2021/17).
Become an IPBES fellow!
The application profile is as follows:
- An early-career individual, indicatively not older than 35 years of age and preferably not more than 5-7 years after having completed your academic degree;
- Have multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary expertise, expertise in one or more disciplines of natural science, social science or the humanities, be an indigenous and local knowledge expert or have expertise in indigenous and local knowledge systems. Relevant scientific backgrounds are indicated in the call for nomination of fellows.
Commitments – You should ensure that you:
- Are able to make a commitment of 15 % of your time in the assessment period;
- Have discussed your application and have it approved by your organization/institution before applying;
- Are available to attend the author meetings of the assessment you are applying for.
Contact your organisation and/or the IPBES national focal point in your country to express your interest to become a fellow in the IPBES fellowship programme and ask them to be your nominator, and fill out the application form and attach your curriculum vitae through the dedicated web portal (you need to have a user account on the IPBES website) until 20 September 2021.
The results of the nominations will be available on 27 September, 2021.
