Beatriz Xavier holds a PhD in Sociology of Education, Culture and Knowledge by the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (Nova University Lisbon), Professor at the Nursing School of the University of Coimbra. Works in the areas of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Sociology and Anthropology of Health and Medicine. Research interests in health and the environment, public policies and collective causes, communication, ethics and values. Strong track record in international academic collaboration, publication, and communication of research to students and professional audiences.
