In the topic of pollination, she participated in multiple projects aimed at studying crop pollination, pollinator diversity and pollination services to crops (e.g. i9Kiwi; CULTIVAR), as well as in projects aimed at studying pollination and pollinator diversity in natural and urban systems (e,g., BetterB, BeeConnected). In the topic of plant diversity and global change H. Castro was awarded a competitive grant and was involved in several projects. Under this topic she studied the response of plant and soil communities to management in agroecosystems. Associated to this topic, H. Castro got involved in 2 international networks (BIODESERT and URBANFUN). She has a strong publication record, with an h-index of 21, 34 ISI publications and over 2,300 citations.
