Jorge Manuel do Rosário Trindade

Experiência

Jorge Trindade holds a PhD in Physical Geography from Universidade Aberta (UAb, 2010) and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Science and Technology of UAb. He is an Integrated Researcher at the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE/UAb) and a Collaborating Researcher at RISKAM, within the Centre for Geographical Studies (CEG/IGOT, University of Lisbon). He also serves as Vice-Coordinator of the PhD Programme in Sustainability and Development at Universidade Aberta.
Between 2015 and 2020, he coordinated the Research Group on Coastal and Fluvial Dynamics at CEG/IGOT/UL, and from 2022 to 2025, he led the Research Group on Anthropocene, Sustainability and Development at CEG/UAb. His academic work includes the supervision of postdoctoral, doctoral, and master’s research in Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Morocco, and Mozambique, focusing on geomorphology, coastal hazards, and the intersections between disaster risk, landuse management and sustainable development.
He has led and participated in several funded R&D projects dedicated to coastal and river dynamics, risk assessment, and sustainability. He serves as scientific editor for national journals, guest editor of special issues in international journals, and reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and books. He has authored and edited books, book chapters, and scientific papers published in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
