Experiência
I am an Invited Assistant Researcher at CFE, University of Coimbra. I hold a PhD degree in Biodiversity from the University of Barcelona, with prior training in Biology (BSc, University of Aveiro) and Biodiversity (MSc, University of Barcelona). Throughout my career, I have conducted research on seabird ecology, movement and conservation at several European institutions, including the University of Barcelona, the Institut für Vogelforschung in Germany, ISPA – Instituto Universitário in Lisbon, and the University of Coimbra. I also coordinated a seabird conservation project in Cabo Verde. My current position at University of Coimbra focuses on marine megafauna fisheries bycatch in West African waters.
My research interests lie broadly within marine conservation, approached from multiple perspectives, including movement and foraging ecology, population dynamics, the assessment of terrestrial and marine threats affecting seabirds and other marine megafauna and marine spatial planning. My research has been conducted in Cabo Verde, the Canary Islands, Germany, the Falkland Islands, the Galápagos Islands, and West African waters. My expertise includes animal tracking, demographic analyses, stable isotope analysis, fisheries data analysis, and advanced statistical modelling, contributing to evidence-based conservation and marine management. My scientific output includes more than 40 publications in high-impact international journals.
