At the Freshwater Ecology Laboratory we carry out fundamental and applied Research & Development activities in the field of stream and riparian ecology, with focus on the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the functioning of forested stream ecosystems. We are presently mainly focused on the effects of salinization, increased temperature and forestry practices on stream ecosystems biota and key ecosystems processes such as litter decomposition. We are also involved in activities of knowledge transfer and scientific dissemination to the general public. |
