The team of volunteers focuses on removing acacia shoots and other invasive plants.
The 54th Volunteer Action for the Control of Invasive Plants at Pólo II of the University of Coimbra (UC) is on September 14th from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is part of the Ecology Day celebrations.
Several species of invasive plants are present on the grounds of Pólo II. Most of these species sprout vigorously after cutting, so traditional interventions are ineffective in eliminating them.
That's why getting to work is necessary to help improve a space that belongs to everyone.
Among the activities carried out, the team focuses on removing Acacia dealbata shoots and maintaining native plants planted in 2020. Registration until September 12th.
