CFE provides a set of services linked with the research carried out by the members of the Centre, namely in the areas of environmental monitoring and assessment, phytopathology, climate change and aquaculture. With a strong connection with the entrepreneurship area, especially in terms of the genesis of phyto-biotechnological spin-offs and startups, CFE is at the forefront of scientific production with international recognition.

In this context, the Centre for Functional Ecology often collaborates with several National and European agencies, also comprising the implementation of EU standards and/or legislation, and contributing to decision making.
