Animated short "Life After Fire"
Today, on the eve of Ecology Day, we premiere the short “Life After Fire,” an animated journey about the importance of animal seed dispersal in forest recovery after a fire.
This film comes as part of the project of the same name, developed by researchers from the Community Ecology Lab at the Center for Functional Ecology, Sérgio Timóteo and Ruben Heleno, who evaluated, among other things, the value of the services provided by seed dispersers during post-fire regeneration of Portuguese forests, highlighting the need for policies that promote resilient forests.
The short resulted from a multidisciplinary effort between ecological research, audiovisual production, illustration, animation and science communication.
