The CFE MycoBiodet Lab researcher, João Trovão, coordinates one of the winning projects of the 5th edition of the Interdisciplinary Research Seed Projects at the University of Coimbra!
The initiative supports five projects, one in each Strategic Area, with a maximum of 20 thousand euros for each winning proposal.
The CFE researcher's Project, entitled "In situ molecular and analytical analyzes of stone monuments biodeteriorative microorganisms DIversity, MEtabolism and Resistome characteristics to improve conservation strategies (DiMeR)", will implement in the field a mobile molecular and analytical laboratory, to study microbes involved in the degradation of rock monuments in the UNESCO area of Coimbra. It will also study antimicrobial resistance genes that contribute to the recolonization of monuments after interventions.
In the strategic area of health, the "Early-Life Environmental AllergenS in ADHD (ELEANA)" Project also involves the participation of CFE researchers Joana Alves and Helena Freitas.
Many congratulations to all the researchers involved!
